Educational Improvement Tax Credit

The Educational Improvement Tax Credit program (EITC) allows companies that are doing business in Pennsylvania to redirect a portion of their state tax payments to approved scholarship organizations. The French International School qualifies as an approved scholarship organization.

This means that by contributing to our school, a company that pays certain Pennsylvania corporate taxes is eligible to receive a tax credit of either 75% (one-year commitment) or 90% (two-year commitment) of the donated amount. The net cost to a company is extremely low in comparison to the scholarship money the school receives. For example, by committing to a donation of $50,000 in each of two consecutive years, a company would qualify for a state tax credit of $45,000 each year, making the actual cash outlay $5,000 each year. Additionally, a federal tax deduction can be taken on the actual cash outlay. The application consists of a simple, one-page document.
